Adolph "Adie" A. Abler, 79, of 95 18th St., died July 11, 2000, at his residence. Adolph was born on Aug. 3, 1920, in Mt. Calvary, a son of Steve and Rose Krones Abler. On May 20, 1947, he married Gladys Roehrig at St. John the Baptist Church in Johnsburg. Adolph was a veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theatre under Gen. George S. Patton. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 664 as well as the Mt. Calvary Abler-Engel American Legion Post 454. He worked for the city of fond du Lac as a maintenance mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Rufinus, Aquilin, and Othmar; and three sisters, Leoba Barsch, Regina Arena, and Helen Balow.
