Elliott J. Weir, 82, of The Villages, FL, passed way September 2, 2015. Born in Menominee, MI he was the son of the late Stanley and Adelaide Weir. Raised and schooled in Peshtigo, WI, he joined the Marine Corps following graduation. He served with First Marine Division in Korea. In 1952, he married the love of his life and wife of 63 years Patricia A. (Wallwitz) Weir. Elliott was a sales credit manager in the furniture manufacturing industry in Burlington, IA for 25 years. He enjoyed boating, fishing and the Green Bay Packers. He and his wife Patti moved to Naples, FL in 1987 and to The Villages, FL in 1999. Elliott expanded his interests to include golf, billiards and playing cards, especially cribbage. He is survived by his wife Patricia (Patti) Weir, daughters, Jacqueline Anne Hackney (Mark) of Tempe, AZ; Kathleen Marie McCutcheon (Frank) of Colorado Springs, CO; grandsons, Joseph and Daniel McCutcheon of Colorado Springs, CO; and great granddaughter, Amaya McCutcheon of Colorado Springs, CO; a sister, Gloria Gremmer and nephew, Gary Gremmer of Menominee, MI; brothers, Warren Weir (Rhea) of Marinette, WI; David Weir (Sandy) of Peshtigo, WI. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Stanley Weir, Jr. Elliott is a happy warrior and is sorely missed by his loving family. The family will receive relatives and friends at a Gathering at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015 at 1 p.m followed by a Memorial Service at 2 p.m.
Burial with Military Honors will be held in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL on Wednesday, Sept.30, 2015 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (stjude.org).
