Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 12 at 10:00 a.m. at Mount Vernon Memorial Park for Mary Emily Johnson, who died on September 7th with her loving family at her side.
A mass will follow at 12 noon at St. John the Evangelist Church located at 5751 Locust Avenue in Carmichael.
Mary was born on January 20, 1931 in Visalia, California to John and Mary Batista.
She married the love of her life, Kay Francis Johnson, in June of 1954. They lived throughout the Western United States during their early years of marriage before finally settling in Sacramento in 1970. Mary served as a teacher's assistant for several years in the San Juan Unified School District, specializing in special needs children.
Mary was proceeded in death by husband Kay who died in 1976, as well as her parents and brother, John Batista.
Mary is survived by her brother Joseph "Butch" Batista and children Karen Bachmann, Terri Read (Ed), Mark Johnson (Amy), Cheryl Eisland, and Lainie Johnson-Mann (David). Mary is also survived by 12 grandchildren & five great grandchildren.
