Bill Guy entered the heavenly Kingdom peacefully, Wednesday the 9th of September 2015. Bill's passing will leave a deep void in his community, his church and especially his family. To say he was the glue that held his family together is an understatement. That doesn't just included his immediate family but his extended family as well.

Whether he was called friend by many, Daddy by his girls, Billy by his wife or Papa by his Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, he was known by all as a life-loving and life giving man! He gave of himself freely and generously. His contribution to his Church, Shady Grove Christian, defined him best of all. Whether it was cutting grass, frying cat-fish, creating and maintaining one of the very best food banks in the county, or in 1980 starting an annual stew sale (with his secret recipe) that produced 100 to 150 gallons funds from which were used to make a significant reduction in the debt of the Education Building that will minister to families for many years to come. In so many ways that facility stands as a reminder of the legacy that underscores a life of true passion and caring for others. Few can match his passion and love for life and his unique way of caring and loving the people in his life. As a person who "never met a stranger", he left a mark on all the hearts that he encountered.

He is survived by his wife, Eloise Betts Guy; daughters, Kathy Guy Pollard (Bill), Kay Guy Funderburk (Darrel), Kim Guy Doss (Danny); grandchildren, Christy Ledbetter, Ashley Barnes, Brian Holley, Katie Sellers, Rebecca Doss, Tiffany Clay, and Brandi Howell; ten great grandchildren; sisters in law, Dot Smyth, Jane Guy and brother in law, Roy Johnson.
