The service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Burial will be in Barren's Cemetery, with military rites by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Viewing will be 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, with Masonic rites at 9:45 a.m., at the funeral home.
Mr. Yost was born April 16, 1924, in Warrington Township. He was the son of the late Philip B. and Edna (Weigert) Yost.
He was a truck driver for Consolidated Freight in York until 1979. He was a member of Barren's United Lutheran Church, White Rose Lodge 706 Free and Accepted Masons, York Forest 30 Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Square Club in York, Scottish Rite and Zembo Temple in Harrisburg. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of Loyal Order of Moose York Lodge 148, Union Fire and Hose Co. 1 in Dover, Dover Township Volunteer Fire Department and Teamsters Local 771, and a charter member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7374.
Mr. Yost also is survived by a son, Blaine Lewis Yost of Muncie, Ind.; a daughter, Beth Ann Garrity of Montoursville; five grandchildren; a brother, John W. Yost of Dover; and a sister, Edna Raffensberger of Colorado.
Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. Benson M. Paul.
