Charles L. Cornbower, 77, entered into God's eternal care on Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at Transitions Healthcare Gettysburg. He was the husband of Mary Louise "Tootie" (Little) Cornbower, who died February 20, 2013. Born July 13, 1938, in New Oxford, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Josephine M. (Lawrence) Cornbower. Charlie retired from Donald B. Smith Roofing, Hanover. He was a member of Sacred Heart Basilica, Hanover, the McSherrystown Moose, a life member of McSherrystown Home Association, McSherrystown Fish and Game, and SAVES. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to auctions. Surviving are a brother, Ronald P. Cornbower of Hanover; the "kids", JoAnn Klunk, Jim Kitzmiller, Janice Zinn, Judy Kitzmiller, and Jenny Long; and many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Joan C. Kuhn, and two nephews, Scott Cornbower and Billy Kuhn. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, September 11, 2015, at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave., McSherrystown, with the Rev. Mr. Joseph F. Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Hanover.
