In 1939, William took Mae D. Grissett as his bride. 1943 saw him serving his country aboard a Submarine during WW II, mustering out as S1 for the U.S. Navy Reserves.
William and Mae expanded their family with the births of William (Billy) in 1947 and Corrine Laverne in 1949 while residing in Lee County, FL. Little Billy passed away at the tender age of 2.
William was called Home at age 51 and laid to rest in the Garden of Memories at Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
