Robert McKean Vosler was the son of Luke Vosler 1795 – 1846 and Susan Joanne McKean 1798 – 1869. He had the following siblings, Elizabeth Vosler 1827 – 1916, She married George Martin; VanCourt Vosler 1833 – 1920, he married Mary Mollie Studebaker, and Joseph Vosler 1837 – 1907, His wife is unknown.

Robert McKean Vosler was a descendent of the Van Courts. His brother's name was Van Court. Robert was a farmer, industrious. Mined coal to buy a table and chairs when he got married. Married a girl of "means". William Martin objected to the marriage. Robert was very devout. Sometimes butchered and sold his cattle, selling them from a wagon. Gave $133 to a church donation once. Was of large stature. His sister Elizabeth married George Martin, brother of Jean (Jane) Ann Martin. He died from hypertension and nephritis. Buried in Rich Hill Cemetery, Pa. His sister wrote her niece, Agnes, that Governor Thomas McKean of Pa. was a cousin of some one of her ancestors.

From the marriagee of Robert and Jane the following children were born: Agnes Martin Vosler 1858 – 1939, She married Alexander Austin Cunningham; William Martin Vosler 1860 – 1934 he married Margaret Lowry; Susan Joanna Vosler 1863 – 1942, She married Joseph Jordan and Dr David Clare Vosler 1870 – 1919, he married Eva L Gear.

Robert McKean Vosler and Jane Ann lived in Neshannock Township on Pulaski Road in a log cabin. Three children were born there; Agnes, wife of Dr. Cunniingham; William who married Margaret Lowry; and Johanna who married Joseph Jordan. When the children were still small, McKean and faily moved to a log house on a property next to Richmond Hill Church. There a son, Clair, was born. He became a doctor and married Eva Gore. Later, McKean built a frame house.

In the 1900 census, all of the children had married and McKean, the name he had always used, and Jane, had a mail servant living with them.

Oct. 22,1905, was a sad day for McLean's family. Their beloved father's spirire had returned to God. He was laid to rest in the Rich Hill United Presbyterian Church Cemetery, in Volant, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania. (bio by Audrey DeCamp Hoffman)
