Charles D. Gardner, a retired Lake Oswego home builder, died of cancer in a Portland hospital Sept. 25, 1984. He was 75.

Charlie was born in Crosby County, Texas, March 20, 1909 and moved to Lake Oswego in 1913. He attended Lake Grove Elementary School and Benson Polytechnic H.S., where he studied the machinest trade. He later built several custom homes in the Rivergrove area of Lake Oswego, Oregon.
