Elsie A. Hahne of Jefferson City died Saturday, 30 July 2005, at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City. She was 89.
Born 7 September 1915, in Stony Hill, she was the daughter of Ernst G. and Minnie Sewing Benz.
She attended the Richwood School near Stony Hill.
On 19 August 1939, she married Daniel Hahne at Steelville.
Mrs. Hahne worked for International Shoe Company in Hermann and for Kellwood in New Haven for over 20 years until her retirement. She was a member of Central United Church of Christ in Jefferson City, where she had been an active quilter in the Martha's Circle.
Survivors include her husband, Daniel; one son, Donald "A.J." Hahne of Jefferson City; three sisters, Florence Ham, and husband, Vernon, of Montgomery City, Dorothy Gumper, of Stony Hill and Helen Kurrelmeyer, and husband, Raymond, of Rosebud; and two brothers, Paul Benz, and wife, Helen, of Stony Hill and Ralph Benz, and wife, Jean, of Washington.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Fred Benz, Edgar Benz and Marvin Benz; two sisters, Freda Faber and Hilda Brown; also by two infant brothers and two infant sisters.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 2 at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors, Jefferson City Chapel, Rev. Dr. Stephen H. Buchholz officiating.
Burial followed in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Memorials can be made to the Central United Church of Christ or the American Heart Association.
Arrangements are under direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Directors of Jefferson City.
