CLYDE E. ASHWORTH

YORK - Clyde Earl Ashworth, 72, a Victoria native and a Peninsula resident since 1941, died Tuesday, Aug. 24.

Mr. Ashworth retired in 1979 as a construction supervisor after 35 years with Newport News Shipbuilding. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church, the James River Rod and Gun Club and the Mariners' Club. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survived by his wife, Elsie Mae Ashworth; a son, David Lee Ashworth of Grafton; a brother, Edgar B. Ashworth of Victoria; and two grandchildren.

Visitation from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Amory Funeral Home, Grafton. Graveside service 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News, by the Rev. Chuck Price.
