FLOYD BURKS LOCKHART: Boise-formerly of Payette; 99, a retired barber, died 17 Jul 1992, in a Boise care facility. Floyd was born 24 Dec 1892 in Miller NE, a son of Michael & Francis Ellen Burks Lockhart. He moved to Idaho in 1919, following his discharge from the USNavy during World War I & came to Payette in 1920. On 15 May 1937 in Weiser, he married Floss Christensen. Lock barbered for more than 42 years, most of the time in Payette with Harry Stottler. Lock farmed north of Payette raising sheep from 1951-1976. Lock & Floss moved to town in 1976. Floss passed away in Jan 1987. Lock loved animals, especially his dog Pooch & always had feed for stray cats. He was known for his thrift. He was a member of the First Methodist Church-Payette. Survivors include a daughter-in-law Christine Lockhart-Bakersfield CA; a sister Faye DeVinapre-Boise; a grandson Dennis Lockhart-Chicago IL; a granddau Leslynn Lockhart-Ashland; a great-granddau Dorey Ann Lockhart-Chicago IL & numerous nieces-nephews. Lock was preceeded in death by his wife Floss; a son Gerald; a brother Ray & 3 sisters: Edith Seamon, Ethel Alters & Leota Lockhart. Service will be Tuesday at Riverside Cem-Payette, with the Reverend Steve Brabb, First Christian Church-Ontario, officiating under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel-Payette. Memorials may be made to The First Methodist Church-Payette; The Idaho Youth Ranch; or the Salvation Army, care of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel.
