Jimmie Lee Jones, 68, of Sarcoxie, Mo departed this life on Monday, June 29, 2015 at his home after a sudden illness.

Jimmie enter this life on October 22, 1946 in Lamar, Mo to the union of Melvin and Mabel (McCulley) Jones. He was a 1964 graduate of Sarcoxie High School. After graduation he attended Kansas City Technical College. He proudly served in the United Sates Army during the Vietnam War, returning home in 1968. During his enlistment he received several commendations, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device. On September 8, 1967 he was united in marriage to Alice Irene Knight. To this union two daughters were born. He worked as a mechanist supervisor for Leggett & Platt retiring in 2009. He was a member of the combat veteran motorcycle association fox 4-9, he enjoyed woodworking, gunsmithing, motorcycle riding, hunting and watching television. Jimmie was a Christian and loved sharing devotions with his family.

He is preceded in death by his father; Melvin Jones; one great grandchild; and one brother in law; Lenny White.

Jimmie is survived by his wife Alice Irene Jones; two daughters; Holly Ellis and husband Michael and Jeanetta Henry and husband Samual all of Sarcoxie, his mother; Mabel Jones of Reeds, Mo one brother; Jessie Jones and wife Debbie also of Reeds, three sisters; Elizabeth Ramsey of Joplin, Susan White of Carthage and Esther Heller and husband Richard of Sarcoxie, four grandchildren; Belinda Cooper and husband Jay, Ethan Ellis, Zane White and Jimmie White as well as a host of other family and friends.

Memorial services with full military honors for Mr. Jones are 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Dudman Springs Cemetery with Pastor Greg Snow officiating.
