Evelyn Maxine Smith, 100, of Flanagan, died at 5:20 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 6, 2015) at Good Samaritan, Flanagan.
Maxine was born May 19, 1915 in Cornell to Clyde and Gertrude Morris Morgan. She married Henry L. Smith on April 16, 1937 in Kankakee. He preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 1989. Her parents; two brothers, Robert and Morris Morgan and two sisters, Jean Vaughan and Helen Bolden, also preceded her in death.
Surviving are her children, Sally G. Cox, Larry J. Smith and Roger C. Smith; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Maxine graduated from Cornell High School, was a homemaker, farm wife, operator for Cornell Phone Co. and worked at Good Samaritan Home.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Flanagan.
