Walter Isaac Blount, Sr., age 75, of 431 Pine Avenue, Pinehurst, died Monday, September 7, 2015, at his residence.
Born in Berrien County, he was the son of the late Robert J. Blount and Edith Godwin Blount. He was a United States Navy veteran and retired from the Georgia State Patrol after 30 years of service. Mr. Blount was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and served two terms as Mayor of Pinehurst.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Kay Blount.
Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, September 9 in Pinehurst City Cemetery with Rev. Larry Thompson officiating.
The family will greet friends 6 - 8 PM Tuesday, September 8 at the funeral home.
