Final rites for Jesse Austin, 75, of Flora were Monday at the German Baptist Church in Flora. Burial was in the Rossville German Baptist Cemetery. Carter Funeral Home of Flora was in charge.
He died at his residence Saturday morning.
Born Sept. 7, 1896, in Jasper County, he was the son of Sylvester and Amanda Root Austin. A retired farmer, he was a member of the Flora German Baptist Church. His first marriage was to Aureita Montgomery who died in 1944. In 1947 he was married to Martha Funderburgh , who survives. Other survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Georgia Yost of Rt. 3, Delphi and Mrs. Bernice Oyler of New Paris, Ohio; a brother, A. C. Austin of Rossville; a sister, Mrs. Seth Skiles of Pratt, Kan.; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
