Mr. Kapke was born in Germany, April 25, 1855. he married Amelia Behling 53 years ago and soon after marriage they went to Milwaukee and several years later located on a farm in Center where they lived until moving to Janesville.
Eighteen children were born of this union, 12 having preceded their father in death. Mr. Kapke is survived by his wife, four daughters and two sons, 34 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in St. John's church and burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.
