Prominent Citizen of Ord Passes Away Today.
Ord, Neb., Jan. 25 - Samuel A. Stacey [sic] died here this morning of Brights disease of four years standing. He was one of the earliest settlers, arriving here in 1872 and homesteading near Vinton. He was an officer of Co. D. in the battle of Wounded Knee Creek, and later became captain. He held the position of postmaster here for eight years. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon.
