Donna L. Steiding, 64

FORESTDALE - Donna L. Steiding, 64, of Forestdale, died at MA General Hospital surrounded by her family on March 24, 2015.
When Donna L Steiding was born on March 21, 1951, in Arizona, her father, Keith, was 22, and her mother, Helen, was 27. She had two brothers and one sister. She died on March 24, 2015, in Falmouth, Massachusetts, at the age of 64.
Born in Tucson, AZ, daughter of the late Keith and Helen (Alberts) Steiding, loving mother of Jason Steiding and his wife Jacky of Medway, MA, cherished grandmother of Jayline and Jacelle.
Sister of Carol Jay and her husband Ed of West Barnstable, Glen Steiding of CA, and Keith Steiding of Plymouth, MA. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Donna was graduate of Lawrence High School in Falmouth, MA, she attended LPN school and received her RN from Cape Cod Community College. She worked for more than thirty years at Cape Cod Hospital until her retirement in 2014.

Donna had a wonderful sense of humor, at times dry and sarcastic. She loved to travel, and took numerous trips to Europe and Asia. On these trips she forged many of the friendships that she keeps to this day. Donna was selfless and volunteered much of her time, most recently at the NOAH Shelter in Hyannis, where she prepared and served meals.
She loved to garden and had a beautiful yard filled with birds and color. She enjoyed going to the movies and was a voracious reader, and could often be found on her sunlit front porch with a book and cup of tea.
But most of all she enjoyed time with her friends and family, especially her beloved granddaughters.
She will be missed dearly by all that she touched.

Visiting hours will be on Sunday March 29, 2015 in the John-Lawrence Funeral Home 3778 Falmouth Road, Route 28, Marstons Mills, MA from 1 to 3PM. A funeral service will follow at 3PM in the funeral home.
