Malcolm R. “Mac” Parks, 64, of State Route 26, Lowville, passed away Thursday afternoon, September 3, 2015 at Faxton - St.Luke’s Healthcare Facility.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc. with Matt Zehr, Pastor of Abundant Life Fellowship officiating. Calling hours will be held from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Foxwood Memorial Park, Ogdensburg, at a later date.

He is survived by his mother, Betty L. Parks; his sister Kathleen Whiteford; nephews Jared Wells and Lynnley Whiteford; a niece Heather Wells; and a great-nephew Alexander Owens. He is predeceased by his father, Donald J. Parks.
Mac was born on January 7, 1951 in Ogdensburg, NY, a son of the late Donald J. and Betty L. Billings Parks. He graduated from Heuvelton Central School in 1969, where he was a member of the National Honor Society, a 4-H member, and participated in band and chorus. He was going to attend Crane School of Music, but decided to attend pharmacy school instead. While in school, Mac worked on his parent’s dairy farm in Depeyster. He graduated from Albany School of Pharmacy (Union College) in 1974.
Mac worked for Kessler’s Pharmacy in Albany while he was a student there, and began a twenty year career at Kinney Drugs, first as a pharmacy student intern, before becoming a NYS Registered Licensed Pharmacist, assistant manager and manager for the company.
Mac was the pharmacist owner of the Medicine Shoppe in Lowville for twenty years. He served two terms on the Medicine Shoppe Advisory Committee, representing all of the Medicine Shoppe owners in New England. Mac worked for four years as a pharmacist for Wal-Mart in Lowville.
For forty years, he owned and operated Park’s Breezy Knoll, a Standardbred horse breeding farm and racing stable.
Mac served on several boards as a director, including Lewis County Public Health, Snowbelt Housing, Lewis County Agricultural Society (Lewis County Fair), and the NYS Harness Horse Breeders.
