Galva – Ted J. Hopping, 60 of Galva, died suddenly at 6:15 this morning in his home. Funeral services will be at 1p Saturday afternoon in the Johnson – Gill Schuster Funeral chapel, Galva, The Rev. Allan Mason, Pastor of the Congregational Church, Galva, officiating. Burial will be in the Galva Cemetery.
Mr. Hopping was born 21 Jun. 1912 In Astoria. In 1932 he was graduated from Abingdon High School, and attended the former Hedding College, Abingdon.
On 19 Jan 1948, he married Ellen Schopa in Missouri.
Mr. Hopping was in the dry cleaning business in Abingdon before coming to Galva in 1937, where he owned and operated the Reliable Cleaners.
He was member of the Galva Chamber of Commerce, Galva Stamp Program, IOOF and the Isaac Walton League.
Surviving are the widow; two sons, James and Tabie, both of Galva; a daughter Miss Paula Hopping at home; a grandson, and two half brothers Ralph of Galesburg and Dick of Astoria.
