When Daniel Bodkin was born in 1858 in Bardwell, Kentucky, his father, Daniel Bodkin Sr. was 35 and his mother, Eliza Jane, was 29.

He married Mary J. when he was 24 and they had two children together in Bardwell, a son Jessie Thomas Bodkin born on September 7, 1886 and a daughter Annie Bodkin born in February 1887.

He then married Hallie Hicks on June 23, 1918, in Weakley County, Tennessee. when he was 60 years old.

Daniel was a farmer. He died of apoplexy on October 27, 1927, in Graves County, Kentucky, at the age of 69.

Undertaker was Jim R. Lowe and Son. Daniel was laid to rest Oct. 28, 1927 in the Lowes Cemetery.

He left behind his wife Hallie Hicks Bodkin , one son , Jesse Thomas Bodkin and one daughter Annie Bodkin, six sisters, Mary T.Bodkin, Dove Anna Bodkin, Ida Bodkin, Eliza Jane, Alice Bodkin, Olive Bodkin and one brother, Isaac C. “Ike” Bodkin.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Byron Bodkin.

His wife Hallie, passed away on January 2, 1967, in Lowes, Kentucky, at the age of 80.
