Please Note: Gerome's death record gave his place of birth as Michigan. However, in all of the census records, his place of birth was given as Ohio. On August 7, 2018, after receiving an edit request, I changed Gerome's place of birth to Ohio.

Obituary From Ottumwa Daily Courier, Tuesday, April 19, 1932:

Gerome A. Tillotson, 82 years old, died at his home 610 South Madison avenue, at 4:15 a.m. today. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Bertha Dexter of Reeves, La., and Mrs. Carrie Baughman of Ottumwa; three sons, Elza Tillotson, Ottumwa route 1, Aaron Tillotson, Floris route 2, Otto of Ottumwa; two sisters, Mrs. Matilda Dawson of Colorado Springs and Mrs. Vina Fiedler of Ottumwa; one brother, Bird Tillotson, of Des Moines. The body was removed to the Johnson funeral chapel where funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. John F. Rex, pastor of the Willard Street Methodist Episcopal church. Burial will be made in the Shaul cemtery [sic].
