The story is that "Colonel" or "General" Wm Tabor (historical marker has Lt.) was badly wounded in this battle. And was lying on the battlefield among many other dead and dying. A young lady had come to fetch the body of her father to take him home for burial. She had her father's body on the back of the horse and was walking him home to bury. She passed by Lt Tabor and realized that he was still alive. So she unloaded her own father's body and left him lying on the battlefield and loaded up Lt Tabor to try and help him. She took him back home and nursed him back to health. And that is how Lt Tabor met his wife!
