Married Jack C. Burchess on 12-21-1977 on Honolulu, HI.
She worked for the federal government from June 1942 to September 1974, retiring as secretary to the Deputy Director of Defense Research and Engineering at the Pentagon. She witnessed the launching of the first atomic submarine, the USS Nautilus, at Groton, Conn., in 1954. She returned to Hastings after her retirement.
