LELA ORMAN 81, OTTUMWA
OTTUMWA-Lela May Orman, 94 of Sylvan Woods, formally of River Road, died at 6:08 p.m. August 4, 206 at Hospice House.
She was born May 31, 1912 in Wapello County to Wiliam and Ruth McGee Rowell. She married Vernon I. Orman Nov. 23, 1936. He preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 1988. She was an avid gardner, loved to pitch, fish, sew and crafts.
Surviving are two sons, Bill {Theresa} Houk, Bob {Barbara} Orman and a daughter, Sheryl Austin, all of Ottumwa; Seven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson; two sisters; Olive McDaniel and Maine Koch; two brothers, Fred Rowell and an infant Charles Rowell.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Dvorak officiating.
Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
Visitation will begin after 10 a.m. Monday with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday.
Pallbearers will be Richard Houk, Terry Doud, Damon Hornaday, David, Kevin, and Tyler Orman.
Memorials may be made to Hospice House or American Diabetes Association.
