Mrs. Essig died Sunday at a Temple Hospital. She taught at Galveston Ball High School. She was an active member of the Moody Memorial First United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and was in the hand bell choir. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women.
Survivors include son, Stephen S. Essig of Belton and daughter, Carole Essig Gottleib of Austin.
