Harry E. Korf

Well Known Business Man And World War Veteran Victim Of Indigestion

Harry E. Korf died Saturday night while on a fishing trip to the Eddie Horany farm north of the city. About the last words he said were to his friends in the party, when he told them to go ahead and run the set-lines before they went home. He had been stricken by an attack of acute indigestion, was resting in the rear seat of an automobile, and while indicated suffering, gave the friends no warning of the seriousness of the attack. He died en route home from the farm.

An inveterate fisherman, death came at a time when he was enjoying to the fullest his major diversion.

Long in Bristow as an insurance man, he had made diversions from this in other lines, and at the time of his death was deputy county assessor, at Sapulpa. He was a veteran of World War I and spent 18 months in France. Returning from this he located in Bristow, and during most of the years engaged in the insurance business.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Sullivan funeral home and burial followed at Oak Crest cemetery. Rev. R. F. Galloway, of the First Presbyterian church, conducted the services.

Honorary pallbearers were E. E. Horany, M. S. Hughes, C. F. Boyd, Louis Loeffler, Harry Glasser and L. L. Kemp. Active bearers were Boyd Caves, Howard Seay, A. M. Frierson, C. E. Parrott, Dr. C. D. Rummell, Emil Elias, Jim Stephens, and L. M. Snedeker, the latter of Oklahoma City.

Mrs. Korf, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Korf, Sr., his parents, and Mrs. F. G. Weis, of Savannah, Ga., are the immediate relatives of the family.

He was born at St. Joseph, Mo., May 24, 1894, and was 49 years of age. He was an active member of the American Legion Bristow post.
