Laura was the loving daughter of William Bowen and Frances Caroline Forbush Bowen. Laura was married to Charlie Taylor Lafon in early 1910 (when she was 17 years old), until her death when she was 26 year old. They had three children. Earl born in 1914; William Elmer Lafon who died at the age of 6 years and Hazel born in 1916. Her husband Taylor was the son of Samuel Lafon (born in Feb 1863 in Va.) and Dora A. (born in Nov. 1861 in Ohio). He was drafted into World War II in 1942. His siblings were John A. born in Feb. 1882; Albert F. born in Jan 1884; Lula M born in Mar 1892; Sherman G. who was born in May 1894 and married Myrtle--(their children were Donald R. born in 1911; George L. born in 1914 and Nancy M. bornin 1915); and Gilbert born in Dec 1896. On the 1900 Censue report he and his parents were listed as living in Windsor, Lawrence County, Ohio. He then remmaried her cousin Mary Janie Bowen Lafon and they had Harry Clay Lafon (b. 1924, d. 1969); Isaac "Ike"; Tom; Jimmy and Rush. He is buried next to Charlie and his second wife Mary Janie. Laura passed away from complications of appendicitis. She is deeply missed.
