During High School, she worked for F. W. Woolworth and J.C. Penney's of Lewiston. During World War II she worked at Cadillac Motors Corps., Detroit, MI on motors for war planes. The women were called "Rosie the Riveters." She graduated from C.M.G. Hospital in Lewiston as a Certified Nurses Assistant. She worked at Bridgton Hospital and Stephens Memorial Hospital of Norway for years. She lived in Jacksonville, FL with her daughter, Gretchen Paradis, as well as in Cape Cod for five years near her son, Rev. John D. King, Sr. of Wareham, MA. She was predeceased by three husbands: Albert M. Garcelon, Jr. of Auburn, John J. King of Oxford and St. Johnsbury, VT and Roger B. Truman of Norway. Mrs. Truman leaves two sons, Rev. John D. King, Sr. of Wareham, MA and Gary M. King, Senior Chief Petty Officer, of Milton, FL; two daughters; Mary Jane King of South Paris, and Gretchen K. Paradis of Orange Park, FL; one brother; Kenneth D. Winslow; one half-sister, Kay E. Smith of Grantham, NH and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides loving her family, she loved animals.
