Lucille Gentry, 84, of Greenville died Monday at a Rowlett hospital. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Peters Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Peters Funeral Home.

Lucille Woodall Gentry, 84, of Greenville died Monday, July 28, 2003 at Lake Pointe Medical Center in Rowlett. She was born Sept. 4, 1918, at Kingston, TX, to Alda and Annie Bell Bench. Mrs. Gentry attended Whiterock School, graduating from Celeste High. She married A.J. Woodall of Wolfe City in 1938, and he preceded her in death in 1960. In 1964 she married Ernest Gentry in Greenville, and he preceded her in death in 1999.

She was employed by S.H. Kress for 27 years and retired from Howard’s Discount Center.

She enjoyed gardening, quilting, cooking and the love of family and friends. Mrs. Gentry was a dedicated member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church and placed her Lord first in her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents. husbands, and brothers: Clarence, Jack and J.C. (Buddy) Bench, and one sister: Nell Joslin. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Tom West of Garland, Sandra Hale of Caddo Mills, Barbara and Gary Hough of Springfield, Mo., Brenda and Jay Lynn Gore of Caddo Mills, Carlene and Corky Nance of San Antonio; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Janice Woodall of Waxahachie, Gene and Dorothy Gentry of Okinawa, Japan, Rick and Debbie Gentry of Lackenheath, England, and Danny and Shelly Gentry of Paris, Texas; one sister, Tommie Hill of Garland; aunt, Bertha Cardwell of Greenville, 21 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services are Thursday, July 31, 10:30 a.m. at Peters Funeral Home in Greenville with burial at Forest Park Cemetery. Service will be led by her pastor, Dr. Glen Cook, Assoc. Pastor Don Christopher, and Rev. James Nance.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be Wednesday July 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Cedar Grove Baptist Church, 919 County Road 2178, Greenville, 75402.
