Hazel Ward, age 85, passed away on August 31, 2015 A devout Christian, she entered into the waiting arms of her beloved Lord and Savior. Hazel was born on February 22, 1930 in Clay County, Kentucky to Willie and Bessie (Smith) Grubb, but resided in Indianapolis, Indiana for the majority of her life.

She was married for sixty-seven years to her husband, Hasco Ward. Together, they raised six children which became the source of Hazel’s sole focus and dedication. In her early years, Hazel enjoyed gardening, collecting Fenton glassware and various figurines, as well as listening to gospel music, particularly, The Stanley Brothers. In her later years, Hazel enjoyed reading her Bible and spending time with her children and other relatives.

Hazel is survived by her husband, Hasco; sons, David, James, Gary and Paul; daughters, Bonnie Terhune and Paula Ward; brother, Edward Grubb; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Allen, Fred and Lonzo Grubb; sisters, Della Linebach and Zelma Reynolds.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 8, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
