Elizabeth Harris (Brown)
March 14, 1925 ~ August 26, 2015 (age 90) Ida Elizabeth Brown Harris, age 90, widow of W.H. “Babe” Harris, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital. She was born March 14, 1925 at Quail, Ky., a daughter of the late William Chester Brown and Zora Norton Brown. She was a Sunday School teacher and one of the charter members of the Maretburg Baptist Church. Mrs. Harris enjoyed gardening and sewing.
Mrs. Harris is survived by her son, Dennis Harris and his wife, Darlene of Brodhead; 2 grandchildren: Danette Craig (Kevin) and Darin Harris all of Brodhead, KY., and 2 great-grandchildren: Harrison and Ava Craig. Also surviving is a host of family and very special friends at the Maretburg Baptist Church.
Besides her husband W.H. “Babe” Harris, Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her brothers: Pretzel Brown, Monroe Baker Brown and John William Brown; sisters-in-law: Bonnie, Janie and Joyce Brown; a nephew: Mickey Brown; and a grandson: Daniel Gordon Harris.
Visitation for Mrs. Harris will be Friday, August 28, 2015 at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals Chapel from 6-9 pm and Saturday, August 29, 2015 from 10am-12 noon at the Maretburg Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 12 noon at the Maretburg Baptist Church with Bro. Wayne Harding and Bro. Jim Craig officiating. Burial will follow in the
Sayer Cemetery.
Casket bearers are Mike Brown, Greg Brown, Ronnie Arnold, Donnie Arnold, Kevin Craig and Darin Harris.
