He is survived by his wife, Leota Dollar Cowell, 4 daughters, Albertine Reddell & husband Chester of Van Buren, Arkansas, Lanell Laster & husband Raymond of Van Buren, Arkansas, Ina Davidson & husband Ray of Van Buren, Arkansas, and Mary Laugwitz & husband John of Clarksville, Arkansas, 4 sons, Fred H. Cowell & wife Faye of Clarksville, Arkansas, Gerald Cowell & wife Diane of Clarksville, Arkansas , Don C. Cowell & wife Cheryl of Lamar, Arkansas , and Jerry Ray Cowell & wife Marilyn of Clarksville, Arkansas, 2 stepdaughters, Shirley Chavez of Texas and Jean Henson & husband Paul of Kansas, and a stepson, Sam Henderson & wife Ginger of Oklahoma, 11 grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 65 years, Lois Cowell, and his parents, the late J.A. and Mary Elizabeth Johnston Cowell.
Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at First Assembly of God Church in Clarksville, Arkansas. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Clarksville, Arkansas. Visitation will be held 6-8 P.M., Tuesday, July 11, 2006, at Roller Cox Funeral Home in Clarksville, Arkansas.
