Joann Cihak was born at Wagner on February 5, 1937, the daughter of Adolph and Helen (Pekas) Cihak.
She died Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at the Galtier Health Care Center in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Joann graduated from Wagner High School and received a degree in education from Southern State Teachers College in Springfield. She taught for three years in rural schools in Charles Mix County. She later worked for several restaurants in Yankton and St. Paul, MN.
Joann was confined to health care centers for many years in St. Paul, MN.
Joann was a member of the Assumption Catholic Church and St. Mary's Altar Society in Dante.
She is survived by her mother, Helen V. Cihak of Dante; two brothers: Wayne and wife Sheila Cihak of Parker, CO; Norman and wife Judy Cihak of Dante; and several nieces and nephews.
Joann was preceded in death by her father, Adolph, and her grandparents: Joe and Mary (Cuka) Pekas and Albert and Mary (Sedlacek) Cihak.
