Mr. Akins was preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Eron Akins; son, Sgt. Kevin Akins; and sister, Joy Gleaner.
Survivors include his wife, one son, one daughter, several grandchildren, five brothers, one sister and a host of nieces and nephews.
