The death of Geo. W. Ponder occured a few days ago at his home near Lafayette.
Mr. Ponder had been in feeble health some time, but was taken seriously ill
only three days before his death.
He had been a resident of LaFayette for 20 years. He is survived by his wife,
four children, four step-children, five sisters and two brothers.
Deceased was born in Morgan county, Ga., August 6, 1870. He came to Texas in
1893. His first wife died in 1911, leaving four children. He was married in
1912 to Mrs. Lela Fielder.
Mr. Ponder joined the Methodist church at an early age and was a devout
christian. He enjoyed the esteem and confidence of a wide circle of friends.
