"Anna Elizabeth Jordan was born on October 23, 1849, in Mississippi. She married Hillery Xenophen Portwood about 1871, in Lowndes County, Mississippi. They had one child, a dau, during their marriage. 1880 US Census, she & 6 year old dau, Florence are living with her parents in Zion, Lowndes Co. She died about 1925, in Jefferson County, Alabama, at the age of 76." (living with her dau & son in law - Cansler)
Infant was a Daughter:
"Florence "Flossie" Portwood born on December 2, 1876 (1874) in Lowndes County, Mississippi, She married John D. Weed and they had two children Then married Charles Lee Cansler and they had six children She died on February 7, 1967, in Birmingham, Alabama, at the age of 90." (Elmwood cemetery Find A Grave Memorial# 14999507)
No headstone was found here for Hillary. but many are unreadable or missing. I feel strongly that he is buried here and I will gladly change it if I am proven wrong.
