Ronald L. Borden, 83, of Paducah passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Baptist Health Paducah.

Mr. Borden was a retired Steamfitter and member of Local 184. He received a Purple Heart during his service in the Army while serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a founding member of the West Kentucky Gospel Music Association as well as the Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of the House of Prayer Church in LaCenter. In his spare time he enjoyed watching UK basketball and playing piano. He played piano for many different gospel groups over the years.

In 1955, Mr. Borden along with his father, LeRoy Borden moved to Gurabo, Puerto Rico to open the Senorita Hosiery Mill. He worked there with his father for four years before returning home.

Surviving is one son, Tony (Vicki) Borden of Paducah; one daughter, Lisa Burton of Kevil; one brother, Jerry Borden of Metropolis; one sister, Jenella Binks of Tennessee; five grandchildren, Summer Bostrom, Emily Ingram, Lauren Haneline, Aimee Thorn, and Andrew Burton; six great-grandchildren, Alek Mills, Dallas Bostrom, Landen Thorn, Kennedy Haneline, Easton Cahen, and Kash Haneline; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Imojean Elrod Borden; one son, Niki Borden; one sister, Patsy Corder; and one granddaughter, Melanie Borden. His parents were LeRoy Borden and LouEva Kindred Borden.

Funeral services will be at 12:00pm on Friday, August 28, 2015 at the Lindsey Funeral Home with the Revs. Dale Harrell and Terry Tipton officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with military honors.

Friends may call from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
