Son of Elias and Sally Goodrich Willard.
He married Cynthia Marie White in Jan. 1843 in Holland Patent.
Grandson of Simon and Sarah Robbins Willard.

Elias G. Willard, one of the early settlers of Holland Patent, died at the Home for Aged Men and couples in Utica Saturday night after a brief illness from congestion of the lungs.
Elias Goodrich Willard was the eldest son of Elias and Sally Willard. The parents were natives of Wethersfield, Conn. The father and his brother Ephraim came to the town of Trenton
when they were young men and settled in Wethersfield.
Mr. Willard was born December 14, 1807.
In January, 1843, he was married to Miss Cynthia Maria White, daughter of Aaron White of Wethersfield.
To them, one child was born, Ellen Ellura, who died in 1863. Mrs. Willard died June 30, 1878, aged 65.
The first vote that the deceased cast was in 1837 and the first
presidential candidate that he voted for was William Henry Harrison, father of President Benjamin Harrison, for whom Mr. Willard also voted. He voted at every state election from 1837 till the time of his death, a period of over 55 years and he generally voted at town meetings. He was always an enthusiastic Republican. Many years ago he united with the Baptist church at Holland Patent, and was ever a consistent
and worthy member. He also possessed a constitution of remarkable vigor and was unusually active all through life. Even up to to the time when he was in his 85th year, he performed a great deal of hard manual labor.
After the death of his daughter he adopted a girl, who became the wife of the late Dr. Coffin of Trenton, and she is now known as Mrs. Lizzie Coffin. Rome Citizen, Tuesday, June 3, 1902
