On April 5, 1933, Cleve and Clara Muse were blessed with their sixth child, Erwin Davis Muse in Sanford, FL. Throughout his life, he was known by the nicknames: Boty, Winn, and Ed. Although times were tough growing up during The Great Depression and World War II, Ed remained a fighter. After leaving high school he joined the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was stationed at Haneda Air Force Base near Tokyo, Japan. He continued to dedicate 20 years of his life to actively serving in different branches of the service. While attending classes at The University of Florida and Jacksonville University, he met the love of his life Hazel Crawford. Knowing that he needed her for the rest of his life, they married on June 3, 1955. While still in college, he began building a home for his new family to live in and a store in which he and his new bride could work together. In 1957, they were blessed with their first born son Stephen. In 1959, Ed graduated as part of the first graduating class at Jacksonville University. By the end of that year he was not only a college graduate but also a new father to another boy, Richard. Over the next eight years he was blessed with three more children: Mike, Susie, and Jimmy. With his expanding family, he knew he needed a larger house. So in 1968, he began building the family a new home in Lawtey, Florida where they spent 45 years making memories. While working for 30 years at Seaboard Coastline/CSX Railroad, he instilled values in his kids that eventually led them to bless him with four more amazing people that he considered to be children: Dorothy, Rich, Michelle, and Jim. As his children married and started their own families he was blessed with eight grandchildren Marie, Melissa, Marilyn, Kimberly, Stephanie, Regine, Jarrod, and Caleb. After retiring He was able to spend time with his grandchildren, teach them all of the things that he had learned over the years, and give them memories they will treasure forever. He even taught Japanese and other classes at the First Christian Church of Starke, leaving an imprint on many lives in his community. Ed was also a founding member of the 1503rd ATW Reunion Group. This is a yearly gathering of some of the men that served at the Haneda Air Force Base. He was also an active member of the Korean War Veterans, where he marched in parades, spoke to the members of the ROTC at the University of Florida, participated in the Color Guard, and presented military honors at the funerals of veterans. Over the last ten years he was blessed with six great-grandchildren Caitlyn, Karen, Josh, Victoria, Benjamin, and Michael.

On August 22, 2015 he was welcomed into heaven by family and friends that passed before him, leaving a legacy with his family who will carry his message and values to the next generations.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 between 5-7p.m. in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 26, 2015 in the First Christian Church with Pastor Jim Chandler officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery.
