Daughter of Robert Paine and Mary Eloise Adams Dick. Wife of Judge Robert Martin Douglas. Jesse grew up in the family homeplace, called "Dunleith", that once stood near the intersection of Church and Smith Sts. in Greensboro. She was a granddaughter of Judge John McClintock Dick, and gr-granddaughter of Revolutionary War soldier, James Dick, who was involved in the Battle of Guilford Courthouse.
