Leota Metcalf Hensley, 93, died Wednesday at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.
A daughter of the late Fred and Carrie McAfee Metcalf, Mrs. Hensley was reared in Afton.

She was the widow of Jess Hensley, and spent her adult life in the Middle Creek community.

She was a homemaker and attended Middle Creek Church of God as long as her health permitted.

Her family stated, "She was a loving mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and a friend to all. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her."

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law: James Hensley and Claude and Delores Hensley; and one daughter: Audrey Blake, all of Greene County; 14 grandchildren, seven of whom she helped to raise: David Hensley and Lisa Hensley, both of Ohio, and Russell Hensley, Jarrod Hensley, Clayton Hensley, Glennon Jennings, Rhonda McLain, Shannon Blake, Sharron Blake, Shawn Blake, Rita Blake, Shane Blake, Cathy Boles and Amy Seaton, all of Greene County; 21 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Arlona Bishop and Opal Reaves, both of Greene County.

She was preceded in death by her stepmother: Lorena Metcalf Gilland; two grandsons: Michael Jennings and Jerry Hensley; one great-great-granddaughter; one brother: Freeman Metcalf; and three sisters: Alma Marie Ricker, Virginia Metcalf and Dolly Metcalf.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Jeffers Mortuary.

The funeral service will follow visitation at 8 o'clock in the mortuary chapel.

The Rev. Billy Dale Shelton and the Rev. Jay Hugh Jennings will officiate.

A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Mount Tabor Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Seaton, Wendell Thompson, Billy Jennings, Anthony Jennings, Jack Lundy and Daniel Foulks.
