Leslie L. Allen, 72, passed away at Mercy Medical Center. He was a lifelong resident of Milo. He graduated Indianola High School in 1952. He was a farm owner and operator.
In 1952 he was State track Champion in the 220 yard dash with a time of 22.4 seconds. He was a member of the Warren County Fair Association and had been treasurer for Warren County Farm Bureau. He was active in 4_H when his children were growing up.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna (Gibson) Allen, parents and brother, Steve.
He is survived by his wife Ginger, two sons and four daughters, a sister, 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, June 14, 2007 at Peterson Funeral Home in Indianola, IA with Pastor Kieth Smith of Motor Friends Church. Burial in Ackworth Cemetery.
Visitation with family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Peterson Funeral Home in Indianola.
Memorials may be made to S. E. Warren Boosters or the Ackworth Friends Church.
Les took special pride in his prize beef Shorthorn Cattle in addition to his love of the farm he very much enjoyed the bounty of his garden and his fruit trees. His family gives special mention of his favorite Rat Terrier, Trixie.
