Clarence Blessing to Reward Friday; Was 70 Years Old
Well-Known Ord Man in Ill Health Several Months; Funeral Held Monday

Funeral services were held at the Pearson chapel Monday afternoon for Clarence Blessing, 70, who died Friday after a long period of ill health. He had been bedfast several weeks before his death. Rev. R.T. Cordry officiated at the last rites and burial was in the Ord cemetery.
Mr. Blessing was born March 26, 1874 in Cass county, Michigan, and came here in 1880 with his parents, Lorenzo and Catherine Blessing, settling on a farm in Michigan township where Clarence grew to manhood. On March 18, 1896 he was married to Edna May Hull and seven children were born to them.
In 1901 the Blessing family moved to Ord and Clarence entered a business partnership with his brother, Alvin, which continued until Alvin blessing's death in 1936. They were buyers and feeders of livestock, dealers in feeds and at times were active in road and construction work.
Mrs. Blessing passed away in 1941 and he was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and a sister.
To mourn are left five sons, Lorenzo Blessing, Ord; Ross Blessing, Los Angeles; Clinton Blessing, with the armed forces in Italy; Paul Blessing, Grand Island; Dean Blessing, an air corps lieutenant; also two daughters, Mrs. Opal Burrows, of Ord, and Mrs. Jeanette Miller, Grand Island. There are eleven grandchildren.
Pallbearers at the funeral rites Monday were C.J. Mortensen, Dr. George Parkins, E.C. James, Sam Marks, C.F. Hughes and Theron Beehrle. Mrs. Mark Tolen sang, accompanied at the organ by Ella Bond.
