Arthur Dean Patterson Obituary
Arthur Dean Patterson, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully at his home in Colorado Springs on August 16, 2015, surrounded by his family. He was born on February 5, 1934, the oldest of five children born to the late Sumpter and Grace Patterson.

Dean graduated from Boulder High School and then joined the Air Force in 1954. While serving in Panama, he met and married the love of his life, Aura E. Colbert-DeLeon. Dean and Aura traveled to Hawaii, Okinawa and the U.S. while raising their four children. Dean retired from the Air Force after serving honorably for over 20 years.

Dean was a kind, gentle man who was loved by all who knew him. He loved to make people laugh and always had a joke to tell. He was a life-long musician who played in many bands including the Colorado Springs Community Band and the Tuba Christmas.

Dean was involved with the Retired Enlisted Association and many RV clubs including Ute Bobcats, Rocky Roos, Colorado Springs RV Association, Good Sam Club, Family Motor Coach, and the Family Campers Association.

Friends and family were extremely important to Dean. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, devoted wife Aura Patterson; loving children Walter (Debbi), Debora, Rodney and Steven; precious grandchildren Jessica, Matthew, Janell, Leah, Alisha, Stephanie, Hannah and Maxwell; great-grandchildren Auttumn and Blake; siblings Anne, Sherry and Charlotte; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Aunt Georgia Coffin and brother George.

A rosary service will be held on Thursday, August 27, at 7:00 pm at Corpus Christi Church at 2318 N. Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs. The funeral service will be on Friday, August 28, at 10:00 am also at Corpus Christi Church with a reception and joke-a-thon to follow. Burial, with military honors, will take place at Mountain View Cemetery in Longmont on Monday, August 31.
