On May 30, 2013, I received the following email from MAJ Brian O. Remmey [Ret], Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. "Good day, we regret that neither the Sons of Union Veterans database, nor the cemetery records show William Bollinger as interned in Lancaster Cemetery in Lancaster, Pennsylvania." So at this time it is still unknown as to where Private William D. Bollinger's and Caroline Bollinger's mortal remains were laid.

Martin Luther Canup, pastor of the English Lutheran Church of the Epiphany, 128th Street and Madison Avenue, and Miss Inez Bollinger, only daughter of Mrs. Bollinger and the late Dr. William D. Bollinger of Lancaster, Penn., will take place in that city on June 19. Miss Bollinger has been engaged in Red Cross and war relief work. The Rev. Mr. Canup is Vice President of the Lutheran Ministers' Association of this city.
