With great sadness, the family of Janet (Lowry) Kowalski announces her passing. Jan died peacefully on Sunday, August 16, 2015, surrounded by her family and fortified by the sacraments of the Church. She was 72 years old.
Jan is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, John Kowalski, her three children, Brian Kowalski, Lisa Morgenthaler (Irl), Terri Couch (Bob), her four grandsons, Matthew, Justin, Nicholas,Joshua and by her sisters Beverly Knoll and Debbie Schepker (Mark). Jan will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father, James Lowry, her mother, Virginia (Heidenfelder) Lowry and her brother, Donald Lowry.
Jan was loved and admired by many. She lived life to the fullest and lifted up those around her with her positive and cheerful attitude. Jan could do anything she set her mind to. She was an active volunteer for many groups throughout her lifetime. She was employed in a number of different fields over her career, earning her the appropriate title, "Jack of All Trades". Her hobbies were those that allowed her to spend time with her family – sporting events when her children were young and RV’ing with Johnny and the grandkids in her retirement years. Her passions of late were her two favorite teams, the St. Louis Cardinals and the St. Louis Rams. Her greatest passion was her four grandchildren. They were her pride and joy.
A memorial visitation 10:00 am - 12:00 pm on Monday, August 24 at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton, MO. A funeral Mass will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with a luncheon after Mass.
Memorial tributes can be sent to The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Siteman Cancer Center 1001 Highlands Plaza Dr. West, Suite 140, St. Louis, MO 63110-1337
