Charles Ijames, Sr, 66, of Owensboro went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 21, 2015. He was born in Daviess County on June 24, 1949 to the late Jasper Newton Ijames, II and Ruby Crabtree Ijames. He was a member of Walnut Memorial Baptist Church and First Free Will Baptist Church. Charles worked for Baskin Robbins in maintenance and enjoyed singing karaoke. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Larry Ijames, Bill Ijames, Bobby Ijames, Lee Tyler Ijames; and sisters, Sheila Ijames, Nellie Greer and Patsy Ijames.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Boone Ijames of Owensboro; a son, Charles Ijames, Jr., and his wife, Heather of Reno, NV; two grandsons, Ethan and Aidan Ijames of Reno, NV; brothers, Richard Ijames and his wife, Sherry, and Buddy Ijames, all of Owensboro; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11:00a.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
