Roy Foster Buck, age 95 of Nashville, TN, passed away March 28, 2013. Roy grew up in East Nashville and was a Veteran of War World II, serving as a Bombardier in the Mighty Eighth Air Force. He flew in 35 missions before crashing on the final mission. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Metal with Clusters. He was a longtime member of Andrew Price Memorial United Methodist Church. He loved his grandchildren, gardening and fishing. His last 5 years of life were spent in Texas near his daughter. Preceded in death by his 1st wife of 29 years, Helen Castleman Buck; 2nd wife of 27 years, Evelyn Thomson Buck; parents, John A. and Charity Buck; 1 brother and 2 sisters, and step-grandson, Ben.
He is survived by one daughter and her husband, one grandson and his wife, two granddaughters and their husbands, six great-grandchildren, three step daughters, six step-grandchildren, ten step great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at the Hibbett & Hailey Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Nashville, TN.
